Tolkien

I have no words to express my deep love for John Ronald Reuel Tolkien’s work. He is an inspiration for us all! (I made his name bold because he is amazing).

I have read The Lord of the Rings once before and plan to read it again this summer. I have also read The Hobbit, and let me just say that the movie, The Hobbit—directed by Peter Jackson—is a disgrace to Tolkien. I am disgusted with the movie. It may be “cool” and all, but it is horrid! It has so many totally unrealistic scenes! I cringe at the thought of the movies…

The Lord of the Rings movies, on the other hand, were made very well. There were flaws to it, but it just grabs at you, unlike The Hobbit.

My Dad began reading The Children of Húrin to us kids when I was younger, but we never finished it.

I would absolutely LOVE to read other works by Tolkien, but I just never got to it—until now!

I just got The Silmarillion from the library, and began reading it yesterday. I really don’t prefer library books, as they are dirty and sometimes just very gross. I am going to read some first though, and then possibly buy a copy of my very own—my precious!

My question for You: Who is one of your favorite authors, and why?

I am a young girl in my teen years, pushing through life with the help and encouragement of my family and friends. But more than that, the Lord God is before me creating a path for me to follow. This blog shows my struggles and victories in life, the things I love or dislike. I hope you enjoy browsing through my blog. Before you leave, I hope you understand more fully how much the Lord Almighty means to me.

  1. My favorite author is Jannette Oke. Probably because she rights with such great detail that you feel……like you are actually there in the story.
